K S Mani elected Milma Chairman

Shri K S Mani, currently chairman of the Malabar Regional Co-operative Milk Producers Union, was today elected as Chairman of Milma, to succeed Shri P A Balan Master who passed away earlier this month while heading Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF).

A highly accomplished management expert and a veteran co-operator with decades of experience in the dairy sector, Shri Mani’ pragmatism and dedication have contributed immensely to the growth of Milma, especially in the northern region.

His business acumen and empathy for dairy farmers came in handy in steering Milma’s Malabar Union unscathed through the grim challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Hailing from Palakkad district, Shri Mani has been serving as Chairman of the Malabar Union of Milma since 2020. He has three decades of experience in co-operative sector. He was also a member of the Government appointed committee of the Malabar Union during 2019-20. He was a Director Board member of the Malabar Union from 2003 to 2008.

Shri Mani is the President of the Ennapadam Milk Co-operative Society in Palakkad.   

Besides playing a central role in maintaining the market dominance of Milma’s fresh milk and other dairy products, Shri. Mani’s deep market insight was behind the successful launch of a bouquet of value-added products.

A Post-graduate in Commerce from Madurai Kamaraj University, Mani’s managerial expertise has been recognized by the state and central government by inducting him into various panels.

He had served as the Southern Region Chairman of the Engineering Exports Promotion Council (EEPC) under the Union Commerce Ministry. He also served as member of the Calicut University Senate and President of Palakkad Management Association and Rotary Club.

Shri Mani has shown exceptional brilliance and ability in transforming challenges into opportunities. He forayed into entrepreneurship by starting his venture Atlas Machine Tools as a 23-year-old, which he built into a business that exported machines to foreign countries. Later, he also founded Malabar Engineering Company Pvt Ltd.

The awards received by Shri Mani include EEPC’s Star Performer Award   in 2010 and 2016 and the Southern Regional Award in 2013.

Smt. Jalaja is his wife and his sons, Abhilash and Amith Kumar are mechanical engineers.
